CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- Jason Maxiell and Cincinnati used a balanced attack to win its ninth straight game.
Maxiell scored 18 points to lead a school-record six players in double figures as the 11th-ranked Bearcats cruised to a 102-63 victory over Elon.
Field Williams chipped in 15 points as Cincinnati (9-0) recorded its highest point total of the season. Tony Bobbitt, Eric Hicks and James White each had 13 points for the Bearcats. Cincinnati has not won by fewer than 19 points.
"We're a lot better than we were a year ago," Cincinnati coach Bob Huggins said. "I know a lot of things we've got to get better at. They really do play hard and they are trying to do what we ask them to do."
The Bearcats are unbeaten through November and December for the third time during Huggins' tenure. Cincinnati is 127-28 in the first two months of the season with Huggins as its coach.
"I think a lot of teams have five guys that are better than us, but there aren't many teams that have 10 better than us," Huggins said. "We just need to get 10 deep into the other guy's bench."
Scottie Rice had 18 points for Elon, which lost its second straight game. Jackson Atoyebi had 17 points and 10 rebounds while Matt Nowlin scored 12. The game was the first meeting between the two schools.
"We scored out of our press and I thought we played hard tonight," Bobbitt said. "This was one of our best wins all season. We wanted to set a new statement headed into the new year."
Cincinnati shot 58 percent (37-of-64) to top the century mark for the first time this season. The point total was its most since a 103-94 win over Wake Forest on February 9, 2002.
Elon shot 41 percent (24-of-58) and committed 28 turnovers.
