SPOKANE, Washington (Ticker) -- Gonzaga proved to St. Mary's it is still in control of the West Coast Conference.
Cory Violette scored 20 points and Ronny Turiaf added 19 as the 17th-ranked Bulldogs pulled away for a 75-61 victory over the Gaels.
St. Mary's is considered one of the biggest threats in the conference to Gonzaga, which has won the last five regular-season WCC titles. But the Bulldogs established continued their supremacy with a 15th straight win over the Gaels.
The game was tied, 50-50, midway through the second half before Gonzaga (14-2, 4-0 WCC) reeled off 12 of the next 13 points. Violette had six during the burst and freshman Derek Raivio added five, capping it with a 3-pointer for a 62-51 cushion with 7:38 to go.
Blake Stepp finished with 16 points for the Bulldogs, who have won seven in a row overall.
Paul Marigney scored 20 points to lead St. Mary's (10-7, 1-1), which lost for just the second time in its last six games.
