FAIRFAX, Virginia (Ticker) -- Jai Lewis took care of the inside and Lamar Butler the outside to make sure George Mason stayed practically perfect at home.
The duo combined for 37 points to lead George Mason to a 66-60 victory over Austin Peay in an NIT first-round contest.
The Patriots (23-9) improved to 14-1 on their home court and will travel to Oregon for a second-round matchup.
Butler's fifth 3-pointer snapped a 57-57 tie with 1:30 remaining. George Mason iced the game from the free-throw line, going 6-of 6 in the final 40 seconds.
Lewis scored 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting. The 275-pound forward had eight points in the first half, when George Mason jumped out to a 27-19 lead before the Governors closed the half on a 10-2 spurt.
Adrian Henning scored 20 points for Austin Peay (22-10).
