ANN ARBOR, Michigan (Ticker) -- A balanced attack helped Michigan make it a perfect 10 at Crisler Arena in the National Invitation Tournament.
Lester Abram returned to the lineup and scored 17 points to lead five players in double figures as the Wolverines advanced to the NIT semifinals with an 88-73 thrashing of Hawaii.
Abram separated his shoulder during the Big Ten Conference tournament and missed three games. But he came off the bench and made 7-of-11 shots from the field, including a 3-pointer with just under six minutes to go in the first half that put Michigan (21-11) ahead for good, 35-32.
A pair of 3-pointers by Michael Kuebler kept Hawaii (21-12) close in the second half, but Graham Brown and Dion Harris each had five points during a 22-6 burst that broke open the game.
Brown and Bernard Robinson Jr. each had 14 points, Daniel Horton added 13 and Harris 12 for the Wolverines, who play the Oregon-Notre Dame winner on Tuesday at Madison Square Garden in New York. They are 10-0 all-time at Crisler Arena in the NIT.
Kuebler led all scorers with 19 points.
