SOUTH BEND, Indiana (Ticker) -- Luke Jackson took over down the stretch to help Oregon take out Notre Dame in the quarterfinals of the National Invitation Tournament.
Jackson scored 14 points, including the last six for the Ducks, who posted a 65-61 victory over Notre Dame to advance to the semifinals of the NIT.
Andre Joseph had 16 points and Ian Crosswhite added 12 for Oregon (18-12), which faces Michigan on Tuesday at New York's Madison Square Garden.
Jackson sank two free throws with 2:06 remaining to break a tie, then made a jumper to open a 63-59 advantage with 1:25 left. After Notre Dame's Chris Quinn countered with a jumper with 48 seconds left, Jackson split a pair of free throws with 11 seconds to play.
Teammate Jay Anderson grabbed the rebound of the second miss and gave it back to Jackson, who was fouled with eight seconds left and again went 1-of-2 to cap the scoring.
Chris Thomas led all scorers with 18 points and Quinn had 17 for Notre Dame (19-13), which lost for the fourth time in 13 games.
