CHAMPAIGN, Illinois (Ticker) -- Illinois took advantage of its second straight Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference team and extended a long winning streak in the process.
Dee Brown scored all 20 of his points in the first half and led five players in double figures as fifth-ranked Illinois posted a 91-60 rout of Florida A&M.
The win was the 33rd straight at home against non-conference opponents for the Fighting Illini and their second straight against a MEAC school. Illinois beat Delaware State, 87-67, on Friday.
Brown made all eight of his shot attempts in the first half and finished 8-of-10 from the floor, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range. Roger Powell added 15 points and Deron Williams added 11 points and eight assists for Illinois (2-0), which led 58-29 at the half.
Glen Elliott scored 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting and had eight rebounds for Florida A & M (0-2), which lost, 104-72, to Michigan State on Friday.
Luther Head had 13 points and six assists and James Augustine added 10 points for the Fighting Illini, who shot 50 percent (32-for-64).
