OXFORD, Mississippi (Ticker) -- Lawrence Roberts had another impressive outing to keep the Mississippi State road show on the move.

Roberts scored 23 points as No. 22 Mississippi State extended its NCAA-best road winning streak to 16 games with an 87-76 victory over Mississippi in a Southeast Conference game.

Mississippi State hasn't dropped a road game since a 70-62 loss at Kentucky in February 2003.

The reigning SEC Player of the Year, Roberts made 6-of-9 shots from the field and went 11-of-15 at the line. He is averaging 22.0 points over his last six games.

A senior, Roberts had grabbed 54 rebounds in his last three games, but was limited to seven in this one. Even with Roberts failing to dominate the glass, the Bulldogs still held a commanding 35-24 rebounding advantage. Mississippi State is outrebounding its last four opponents by an average of 24.0 per game.

Gary Ervin had 15 points and 10 assists for Mississippi State (14-2, 2-0 SEC West), which shot 57 percent (30-of-57) en route to its eighth straight win.

Tommie Eddie, who missed the Arkansas game on Wednesday with a academic-related matter, scored 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting to lead Mississippi, which lost its seventh straight game to its intrastate rival.

Mississippi State leads the all-time series, 129-101.

The Rebels (9-6, 0-2 West) made 10 of their first 15 shots, building a 24-12 lead less than 10 minutes into the contest. But the Bulldogs stormed back and took a 30-26 lead on back-to-back 3-pointers by Jamall Edmondson with six minutes to play.

Mississippi State shot 57 percent (17-of-30) and held a 44-37 lead at the half.

Winsome Frazier, the Bulldogs' second-leading scorer at 14.3 points, left with an ankle injury midway through the first half and did not return.

Nolen Londrick had 12 points and seven rebounds and Todd Abernethy added 11 and six assists for the Rebels.
