Prosecutors won't refile against Iverson

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Prosecutors won't refile charges against NBA star Allen Iverson for allegedly threatening two men with a gun.

Assistant District Attorney Charles Ehrlich said Monday Iverson will not be re-arrested on four felony and eight misdemeanor charges that were tossed out by a judge last week after witnesses at a hearing disagreed on several points.

Ehrlich would not elaborate on the decision.

The 27-year-old Iverson, the NBA MVP in the 2000-01 season and a three-time league scoring champion, still faces two counts of making terroristic threats for allegedly storming into his cousin's apartment and threatening two men while looking for his wife in early July.

At a brief hearing Monday, a trial date on the two misdemeanor counts was scheduled for Sept. 18. Iverson did not attend the hearing.

Ehrlich said Iverson would likely face probation if convicted.
