Wells earns one-game suspension

NEW YORK (AP) -- Bonzi Wells of the Portland Trail Blazers was
suspended for one game without pay by the NBA on Monday for
spitting on San Antonio forward Danny Ferry.
Wells spit on Ferry in the fourth quarter of Portland's 95-76
victory over the Spurs on Saturday.
Wells, second on the Trail Blazers in scoring with an average of
12.2 points, was to sit out Monday night's game at Dallas.
