Cavaliers' Wagner has knee examined

Posted: Monday March 10, 2003 3:55 PM

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Cavaliers rookie Dajuan Wagner did not practice Monday, and his sprained right knee was examined by a team physician.

The Cavaliers did not have the results of the exam yet. Wagner, who injured his knee during the loss at New Orleans on Friday night, visited Dr. Richard Parker, the team said.

Wagner's injury is another blow to the Cavs, who have lost six straight games and 12 of 13 to drop to an NBA-worst 11-52.

The 20-year-old guard was kept out of Saturday night's loss to Memphis. He got hurt in the first half against the Hornets but continued to play.

Wagner is averaging 13.4 points and 2.8 assists in 47 games. He missed the club's first nine games after being hospitalized and having surgery for a bladder infection.
