HOUSTON (AP) -- The Houston Rockets continued their coaching search Friday by interviewing former New Orleans Hornets coach Paul Silas, according to a broadcast report.

Silas met with team owner Les Alexander and general manager Carroll Dawson for more than three hours and also took a tour of the Rockets' new downtown arena, Houston television station KRIV reported.

"This is the best job out there right now," Silas said. "It just shows they want to get the best possible guy. There are a lot of good guys out there and a lot of interest."

Silas, who was fired earlier this month by the Hornets after five years, was the fourth coach interviewed by Dawson and Alexander in their search to replace Rudy Tomjanovich, who stepped down last week after 12 seasons as head coach.

The Rockets have also interviewed Larry Brown, Jeff Van Gundy and Mike Dunleavy. Assuming he wants the job, Brown is the presumed favorite to become the Rockets' next coach.

In other Rockets coaching moves, assistant Jim Boylen has left the team to accept a similar position with the Golden State Warriors. Boylen has been a member of the Rockets' organization for the past 11 years, the last seven as one of Tomjanovich's top assistants.
