MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Yolanda Griffith had 30 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Sacramento Monarchs over the Minnesota Lynx 86-72 Tuesday night as the two teams combined for a WNBA-record 21 3-pointers. Griffith, last week's Player of the Week, shot 11-of-14 from the field for her third consecutive double-double. She has made 36 of her last 58 shots. Sacramento (5-3) shot 10-for-21 from beyond the arc and Minnesota (4-3) shot 11-for-25. The old record was 19 3's, set by Houston and Phoenix on July 22, 1997. Kedra Holland-Corn had 20 points for Sacramento, including six 3's, and Ticha Penicheiro added 13 assists. Katie Smith led Minnesota with 21 points and Tonya Edwards added 19. Griffith scored 17 points in the first half and Ruthie Bolton Holifield added 12 on four 3's as Sacramento took a 38-30 lead into the break. The Monarchs outrebounded the Lynx 20-10 in the half and 40-23 for the game. Minnesota got within 78-72 with 1:57 remaining on Brandy Reed's three-point play. But the Monarchs scored the last eight points of the game.
