MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Nikki McCray scored 19 points and the Washington Mystics overcame Brandy Reed's scoring spurt to defeat the Minnesota Lynx 60-55 on Friday.

Reed matched her career-high with 28 points, including 16 straight in the second half. Washington led 41-37 with 9:29 remaining before she went on her tear to pull the Lynx even at 51 with 2:49 left.

The game was tied at 55 with 52 seconds remaining, but the Mystics went on to score the last five points -- four of them on free throws by McCray.

Chamique Holdsclaw scored 16 points for Washington, which snapped a three-game losing streak. Murriel Page added 10, all but one of them coming in the second half.

Katie Smith had 13 for the Lynx, who saw their three-game winning streak snapped.

Minnesota led 29-25 at halftime, but the Mystics went on a 12-4 run to open the second half. Holdsclaw, who scored just six points in the first half because of foul trouble, had six in the run.

McCray and Holdsclaw each scored four points in the first five minutes of the contest to get Washington out to a quick 10-2 lead, but the Lynx responded with nine straight points to get themselves back in the game.

Minnesota took its biggest lead, 29-22, with 2:42 left and Holdsclaw on the bench with three fouls.
