Tyson's Italy fight postponed Posted: Tuesday March 07, 2000 11:28 AM
MILAN, Italy (AP) -- Mike Tyson's proposed fight in Milan has been postponed to May, Italian organizers announced Tuesday. "We are looking at May 6 or May 20 as likely dates," said Andrea Locatelli, an official of the Milan-based Media Partners group who is organizing the bout in Italy. The fight, against a still to be determined opponent, was originally planned for April 8. Locatelli said Tyson's management asked Media Partners to postpone the fight but refused to say why. The Milan fight would be Tyson's second European match after his second-round knockout victory against British champion Julius Francis in Manchester on Jan. 29. American Lou Savarese is being touted as Tyson's most likely opponent in Milan.
