No charges Tyson cleared in altercation with dancerPosted: Friday May 26, 2000 08:31 PM
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Mike Tyson won't face charges on a claim by a topless dancer that he hit her and was abusive during a barroom scuffle. Las Vegas police said Thursday that they could find little evidence to back up the claim made by 24-year-old Victoria Bianco. "There was a lot of information saying it didn't happen, and very little saying it did," police spokesman Steve Meriwether said. Bianco filed a police report earlier this month claiming Tyson knocked her to the floor and yelled obscenities when she approached him at the Cheetah's nightclub, where she worked. Police made no arrests at the time and said there appeared to be nothing to the charges. But Bianco, who dances under the stage name "Flower," filed a formal complaint a day later and detectives investigated further. Tyson, training for a June 24 fight in Scotland with Lou Savarese, left his Las Vegas home for Phoenix after the alleged altercation and is training there. Bianco was fired by the club after making the allegations. Club managers described Tyson as a longtime customer.
