LONDON (AP) - Mike Tyson's hearing before British boxing officials for allegedly throwing punches at referee John Coyle in a victory seven weeks ago against Lou Savarese was postponed Monday.

The British Boxing Board of Control, which called the hearing for Wednesday, said a new date had not been set.

The BBBC said lawyers for the former world heavyweight champion requested the delay but offered no further explanation.

BBBC general secretary Simon Block said the body would "be considering alternative dates and a further date for the hearing will be confirmed following the meeting of stewards" Wednesday.

Tyson also is under fire from the BBBC for comments he made after the June 24 fight in Glasgow, Scotland, when he said of heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis: "I'll rip his heart out and feed it to him."

"I want your heart," Tyson added. "I want to eat your children."
