LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Tim Austin doesn't lose, but he can't seem to win.

The 1992 Olympian is undefeated as a pro and holds the IBF batamweight title. But his defense Saturday against Rafael Marquez is only his fifth fight in three years, and he's frustrated about a lack of opportunities.

Austin will make $300,000 when he fights Marquez at Caesars Palace, but he's never gotten the kind of big money that has gone to fighters like Marco Antonio Barrera, who are only a bit heavier than him.

"I want to fight more often," Austin said. "I may have to move up in weight to the next level so I can fight the big guys."

Austin (25-0-1) is a 4-1 favorite to remain unbeaten against Marquez in his ninth defense of his IBF 118-pound title.

He would like to become more active, though, and understands he may have to move up to featherweight to make some big money.

"We had a plan for two fights last year and only fought once. I was kind of upset," Austin said.

Bobby Goodman, vice president of boxing operations for promoter Don King, said Austin has been hampered because other fighters don't wanting to fight him and there are a shortage of viable television dates.

Saturday's fight will be televised as part of an HBO "Boxing After Dark" card that begins at 10:45 p.m. EST.

Austin faces a fighter in Marquez (28-3, 26 knockouts) who is aggressive and has good punching power.

"I'm not worried about it," Austin said. "I sparred over 200 rounds and my mechanics are untouchable."

Marquez said through an interpreter that he also is ready.

"To win a championship you have to beat the champion," he said. "We'll find out who is the best batamweight in the world."
