CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) North Carolina sophomore James Michael McAdoo is playing through a bulging disk in his back but says he'll be ready for Saturday's rivalry game with No. 3 Duke.

Coach Roy Williams says McAdoo didn't participate in a light shootaround Thursday after aggravating his back during a win at Maryland on Wednesday night. McAdoo has been battling back pain for several weeks.

The 6-foot-9 forward is averaging 14.6 points and 7.8 rebounds to lead the Tar Heels in both categories.
