Tennessee releases recruit Landry from letter of intent
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Tennessee has released guard Travon Landry from the letter of intent he signed with the school last fall.
Tennessee athletic department spokesman Tom Satkowiak confirmed Saturday what was first reported by the Knoxville News-Sentinel.
The move brings Tennessee's number of scholarship players for the 2013-14 season back to 13, the maximum allowed under NCAA rules. Tennessee had been over the limit after the spring signings of guard Darius Thompson and junior-college center Rawane Ndiaye.
Landry, a 6-footer from San Antonio, spent his senior year of high school at Huntington (W.Va.) Prep. He was part of a fall signing class at Tennessee that also included guard Robert Hubbs and swingman A.J. Davis.
