CINCINNATI (AP) -- Coach Tommy Tuberville is keeping Cincinnati's quarterback competition going for at least one more week.

Tuberville says he'll decide later in the week whether to give Munchie Legaux his second consecutive start, or switch back to Brendon Kay for a game at Illinois (1-0) on Saturday.

Kay was the incumbent starter, but developed a sore shoulder during camp. Tuberville decided to start Legaux in the season opener against Purdue last Saturday. Legaux threw for a touchdown and ran for another in three quarters of a 42-7 win. Kay played the final quarter.

Kay said on Tuesday that his shoulder finally feels back to normal, meaning there's a possibility he could start at Illinois. Both quarterbacks will run the starting offense in practice this week, and Tuberville will choose a starter.
