Rafique won admiration for his match-winning batting against Kenya in the ICC Trophy in 1997. Recognized as a left-arm spin bowler but has strengthened his batting recently, becoming more of an all-rounder. Rafique has opened the innings with some success. Since slowing his deliveries from medium pace, he has taken wickets on a consistent basis. The 28-year-old notched his highest score of 77 against Kenya last year.
