BRISBANE, Australia (Reuters) -- India's Ajit Agarkar was the most relieved man in world cricket after scrambling through for a run in Monday's triangular limited overs series match against Pakistan at the Gabba.
The Bombay bowler was run out for two but that represented a big improvement on his contribution in his previous five innings in the recent test series against Australia.
During that series Agarkar made five consecutive ducks, including a world record four consecutive golden ducks [first ball dismissals].
Agarkar was given a standing ovation in the second innings of the final test when he ended his run of four golden ducks by surviving Glenn McGrath's first ball. He was out next ball.
Agarkar was given a big round of applause when he finally got off the mark on Monday.
To his credit, Agarkar appeared to see the funny side of his dismal batting displays. When asked by Australia's Sunday Telegraph to explain his slump Agarkar said he was actually in good touch.
"Nothing really went wrong. I just nicked everything I played," he said.
