CENTURION, South Africa (AP) -- For the second consecutive day, rain made play impossible in the fifth test between South Africa and England at SuperSport Park Sunday.

So, on the third day, South Africa is on 155 for six wickets, with Lance Klusener on 22 and Shaun Pollock on nine. Best of the English bowlers has been Andrew Caddick, who took two for 29.

With only 45 over having been bowled so far, a result is looking increasingly unlikely in the final match of the five-match series which South Africa leads 2-0.

The problem Sunday was less the rain than the bowlers' runup on the southern end of the ground, which was thoroughly waterlogged. Both captains agreed that the slickness of the surface was likely to cause injury.

Play is set to resume at 10 a.m. (0800 GMT) Monday, if there is substantial improvement in that portion of the stadium's surface.
