BRISBANE, Australia (AP) -- Australian selectors on Monday recalled batsman Damien Martyn and versatile bowler Colin Miller to the national squad for the third cricket test against the West Indies in Adelaide starting Friday.

Martyn returns for injured captain Steve Waugh while Miller replaces injured paceman Brett Lee. The pair have not played test cricket since Australia's tour of New Zealand at the start of the year.

The captain and vice-captain have yet to be named with the Australian Cricket Board's directors to decide on the new leaders by Tuesday morning.

Wicketkeeper and incumbent vice-captain Adam Gilchrist is almost certain to be named captain, with Waugh expected to return for the fourth test. Ricky Ponting is expected to be the new vice-captain.

The choice of 12th man is likely to be between Miller and Queensland paceman Andrew Bichel with Miller the front-runner to secure the final bowling berth on an Adelaide Oval wicket usually receptive to spin.

Australia: Michael Slater, Matthew Hayden, Justin Langer, Mark Waugh, Ricky Ponting, Damien Martyn, Adam Gilchrist, Jason Gillespie, Andrew Bichel, Stuart MacGill, Colin Miller, Glenn McGrath.
