![]() Stage 4: Wednesday, July 15 - 156 miles Posted: Friday, July 10, 1998 Start town Plouay will host the world road championships in 2000. This stage to Cholet is the longest of the Tour, covering 252 kms of flatlands which will offer another chance to those with a fast finish.
Cyclist city by excellence, Plouay has its bicycle museum, a "veloparc", built on a park of 50 ha. An interesting construction, built with the perspective to host the World Road Championships that the principal city of the district of Morbihan will organize in the year 2000.
A historical city with an interesting past, capital of the "military" Vendée (wars of Vendée) and an important textile center, Chôlet is an enterprising city resolutely looking towards the future. The modern architecture of the City hall and the media library are proof of their vision of the future.
