![]() A winter resort created in the 1930's under the initiative of the Italian Fiat company, Sestrières, with it's famous sun and snow is one of the choicest resorts in Europe. One of the most famous winter resorts in the Alps, at 1,860 meters high, the Alpe d'Huez was the first mountain-top finish in Tour de France history. It has been nicknamed "Dutch Mountain," an homage to the thousands of Dutch supporters who traditionally camp out here and line the 21 switchback turns every time the Tour climbs this mountain. Climbs: Km 67.1 - Mont-Cenis Pass: 24.7 km at 6.3%. Start: Piazza Giovani Agnelli | |||||||
