Jonzac Futuroscope

Jonzac is known firstly as for its diverse beverages like water, wine and cognac. A modern thermal station and the seat of Charente-Maritime, Jonzac is crowned by its magnificent castle dating from the 11th to the 15th century which has hosted such prodigal guests as King Henri IV and King Louis XIV.

A "space which looks to the 21st century," the futurist theme park of Futuroscope was first opened in 1987. With the help of its giant screen and special effects festival, the park is a virtual science fiction mecca. Its formula--to teach through its spectacular attractions--has been a complete success, and its attendance has grown since it first opened.
