Bonneval Amiens
(Societe du Tour de France) (Societe du Tour de France)

With its medieval charm framed by lush green countryside and filled with cathedrals and chateaus, Bonneval, the home to such noteworthy figures as Rabelais and Marcel Proust, hosts the Tour de France for the first time. This town, in the middle of the Beauce region, is known as the "heartland of France," and it was here that Emile Zola was inspired to write "La Terre."

Police headquarters of the Somme department and capital of the Picardy region, Amiens is dominated by the majestic tower of its cathedral, the highest in all of France (112 meters). Victor Hugo called it "pure marvel." It was here at Amiens that Jules wrote "Extraordinary Voyages."

Km 106.2 - Limay climb: 1.7 km at 6.7%.
