Le Grand Bornand Sestrieres

Nicknamed "the Pearl of Aravis," the winter resort of Le Grand Bornand, created just after WWII, is situated on a plateau between the Chiraillon and Borne valleys. Among other noteworthy activities, the world-famous Reblochon cheese has been produced in this region since the 13th century.

A winter resort created in the 1930's under the initiative of the Italian Fiat company, Sestrières, with its famous sun and snow, is one of the choicest resorts in Europe. With its wide variety of exciting descents to ski down, the town has long been a favorite hot spot for skiers.

Climbs: Km 15.7 - Marais Pass: 3.5 km at 3.9%.
Km 38.3 - Tamié Pass: 9.6 km at 4%.
Km 122.5 - Telegraph Pass: 12 km at 7.1%.
Km 145.5 - Galibier Pass: 18 km at 6.9%.
Km 192.5 - Montgnèvre Pass: 10.4 km at 4.9%
Km 212.9 - Sestrières Climb: 11.2 km at 5.8%.

Start: on the D 4 in front of the "Aux Vieux Temps" Lodge.
Finish: Via Pinerolo
