Summary:
Déjà vu: Monday's 3rd stage of the Tour de France was on entirely new terrain, but the results were all too familiar. Tom Steels of Belgium emerged victorious from a sprint finish for his second consecutive stage win, while Britain's David Millar survived a late-race crash and held on to the yellow jersey. American Lance Armstrong, last year's winner, nearly overtook Millar for the race lead and remains in second place.

Loudun's Old City center, bound within twin belts of ramparts, holds numerous architectural treasures. Modern Loudun has earned a reputation for its flowered gardens.
Sports and recreational activities are much practiced in Loudun, where new facilities are always being added.
Birthplace of Jules Verne and Eric Tabarly, Nantes boasts France's longest tram network.
Nantes Football Club has won the French league title seven times, as well as several French Cups, the latest in 2000. A tribute to this sports-crazed town, the World Handball Championships are to be held there in early 2001.
