BOLOGNA, Italy (AP) -- Warming up for the upcoming World Road Championships in Portugal, Jan Ullrich prevailed in a three-way sprint Saturday to win the Tour of Emilia cycling race.

The German cyclist of the Telekom team edged Italy's Francesco Casagrande and Davide Rebellin, who are expected to be included on the Italian team for the world event.

Ullrich, Casagrande and Rebellin broke away from a small group on the final tough climb of San Luca.

The German cyclist outsprinted the two Italians with a powerful finish following a 199-kilometer (123.3-mile) ride.
