Marv Albert stopped by to clear up all the stories from the weekend about his entourage fighting with 50 Cent's entourage in the green room of the Jimmy Kimmel Show.
Albert said that an associate of 50 Cent wanted to make a call from his dressing room and he got into an argument with a security guard who was guarding the room.
Albert said a reporter from the Los Angeles Times was following them and wrote this. Then the story evolved and became Marv and 50 Cent throwing punches at each other.
"I never crossed paths with 50 Cent," Albert said.
Albert is not happy with the coverage of this non-event: "I'll be able to laugh about this eventually -- maybe in a few days, but it's not that funny to me right now because you see first-hand, and you know this, how a story can be made up and then embellished you know just like a game of telephone tag with no accountability because it never happened."
Albert said the idea of him scuffling with 50 was ridiculous.
"I've never even been in a fight," Albert said. He implied the only person he can see throwing down with is Mike Fratello, because "The Czar" can get under your skin.
Dan asked if he's OK with 50 Cent. Marv said "they're going out for brunch." |

UConn beat Notre Dame 33-30 on Saturday.

Connecticut coach Randy Edsall joined the show after the Huskies beat Notre Dame 33-30 in double-overtime on Saturday.
Dan asked Edsall if he thought Saturday's win was an upset. "No I didn't and I don't think our kids did either," Edsall said.
Still Edsall appreciates the magnitude of the victory.
"There's no doubt it's the biggest win we've ever had," Edsall said. "To go out there and win against a school that has much history and tradition ... for us to be able to do that was very very significant for this university, this state and most importantly our football program."
Edsall said the win has even more meaning since it was their first victory since Jasper Howard's untimely death.
"There's been a big burden on our shoulders from the standpoint that we lost a teammate, we lost a brother, we lost a son, we lost a teammate in Jasper," Edsall said. "There was a little bit of a feeling that we let [Jasper] down. ... To get that win out there, it was like we finally did it."

NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson joined the show after winning his fourth straight Cup championship.
Dan asked Johnson where this year's championship puts him in the history of sports.
"The stats of what we've done, especially winning four in a row, kind of speaks for itself," Johnson said. "I do recognize we've done something that's never been done before. And I think it puts us up at the top of the list."
Johnson had very nice things to say about Mark Martin, who came in second this year. "It's been an honor and a lot of fun to race him," Johnson said of Martin.
Dan asked Johnson when he knew he was going to win the Cup this year. Johnson said he knew he had a great car, but technology changes so quickly, he wasn't sure until late in the season. |

Lots of great nominees for Got It Done this week: Brett Favre, Real Salt Lake and more. But Dan was most impressed with Detroit Lions rookie quarterback Matthew Stafford.
Stafford toughed out one final play in the Lions' last-second victory over the Browns. He had a bad left shoulder injury and still ran out there and threw out the game-winner.
After a tough rookie season, Stafford truly earned this week's award. |

Charlie Weis appears to be in trouble at Notre Dame. AP
|
Los Angeles Times college football writer Chris Dufresne joined the show to to talk about Charlie Weis' future at Notre Dame.
"It seems to me that the end is near for Charlie," Dufresne said.
Dan asked Chris if Notre Dame is still a big-time program capable of winning a title. Dufresne pointed out that Urban Meyer had a choice between Notre Dame and Florida. Meyer picked Florida and looked how that won.
Dufresne said it's harder for Notre Dame because it has to recruit nationally, and don't own a state. He doesn't know if inherit problems with the program is why the Irish aren't winning or if it's the coaching.
"I'm curious to see if they go the right guy, would they go back to the top?" Dufresne said.
On a side note, Dufresne said he couldn't tell much from last weekend when looking at his Heisman race. Dufresne said Florida played a hotel (Florida International) and Alabama played a train stop (Tennessee-Chattanooga).

Profootballtalk.com's Mike Florio is fired up about what he considers a flawed NFL overtime system. Florio says an arbitrary coin flip is an unfair way to determine an overtime winner. Florio says the other team should at least get a chance. Florio doesn't want the same system as college football, but thinks the NFL needs to do something differently.

You have to tune in Monday to hear Dan and a great list of guests break down all the bi stories from the weekend. We crowned NASCAR and MLS champions and had a thrilling two days of pro and college football.
Get ready for some dodgeball as well on Monday. Paul Pabst will be on the receiving end after his Bears lost to McLovin's Eagles and Real Salt Lake beat the Galaxy in the MLS Cup. Not a great day for Todd Fritz's Broncos either. On the bright side, Seton got back to his marathon training this weekend.
Meanwhile, Dan had a very interesting interview with Roger Goodell on Sunday night. We'll find out what Dan thought of Goodell's responses and the rest of Week 11 in the NFL.
Here is the rundown of guests:
Jimmie Johnson: The record-setting NASCAR champion is expected to join the show after his big win on Sunday. He finished fifth at Homestead to wrap up his fourth straight title.
Randy Edsall: The Connecticut football coach will talk about the Huskies' win over Notre Dame and his emotional season.
Marv Albert: The legendary announcer will talk some hoops and perhaps clear up some controversy.
Mike Florio: The Profootballtalk.com editor will have the latest on all the big stories around the NFL, including a new concussion policy and more Mike Holmgren rumors.
Chris Dufresne: The L.A. Times college football writer will discuss Charlie Weis' future in Notre Dame and look back at Ohio State's win over Michigan. |

Dodgeballs will be thrown on Monday in the studio. Paul Pabst and Andrew "McLovin'" Perloff have two bets -- one on tonight's Bears-Eagles tilt and the other on the MLS Cup final, Real Salt Lake vs. Los Angeles Galaxy.
Meanwhile, Todd Fritz is fired up for the big Broncos-Chargers game and Patrick "Seton" O'Connor left this Tweet early Sunday morning: "Finally made it to the gym today. I've got a LONG way to go before I'm marathon ready. "
Surprising to hear, since Seton is not happy about the demise of his Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Run Seton Run!
Meanwhile, Dan is in New York getting read for Football Night in America. Always fun to watch just to see if he gives some form of shout out to the Locker Room.
See everyone in the Locker Room during the NFL games and tonight for soccer and football. |
