The Los Angeles Galaxy's David Beckham joined the show to talk about the upcoming MLS Finals and the Ireland-France World Cup controversy. Here are some of Beckham's takes.

-- Beckham said he should play on Sunday despite his foot injury. "It's getting better each day," Beckham said. "I didn't train until yesterday, which was really frustrating because I had bone bruising and I couldn't actually even get a regular shoe on so I was wearing this brace thing that was quite annoying. But I’m out of that and into normal shoes."

"It's not going to be 100 percent," Beckham said. "I'm not sure at my age anything is 100 percent."

-- Beckham had some interesting comments on instant replay in the wake of Thierry Henry's handball in the Ireland-France match. He's not sure instant replay would work.

"It's such a quick sport," Beckham said. "To keep stopping games to look at video ... there are so many mistakes and so many things being missed because the game is so quick."

Bekcham said he doesn't think Henry hit the ball with his hand on purpose.

"Thierry's a good friend of mine as well and I know that he’s not that kind of player and not that kind of person. But I think it’s a kind of reaction. The ball comes to him so quick. I don’t think he’s done it to cheat. But you know, it happens."

I don’t think many players, hardly any players go into the field and think that.”

-- Beckham said that he really wants to play in next summer's World Cup. He thinks if he plays well for A.C. Milan, it will help him make England's squad.

Dan asked if he won the World Cup with England, would he come back to the Galaxy. Beckham said he'd like to come back to MLS very much. "I will always honor the contract that I’ve got," Beckham said.

-- Beckham said he'd never seen the kind of aggressive play Elizabeth Lambert was caught on tape doing.

-- Dan pointed out Victoria Beckham's quote about how she prefers sex to sleep. "She loves saying things like that," Beckham said. "You know she said a few things in the past that we really laugh about ... me wearing her underwear. She's called me golden balls on national TV, so it does definitely sound like one of my wife's quotes."

Pacers rookie Tyler Hansbrough joined the show to discuss his rookie season and more.

Hansbrough said he misses his friends at North Carolina, but he's happy to be out of school. "I don't miss going to class and taking notes," Hansbrough said.

Dan asked Hansbrough which player has most surprised him as a tough matchup. Hansbrough said that Washington's Caron Butler was very quick.

Hansbrough also talked about his evolving career in commercials. He's in a phone commercial but doesn't say much.

NFL Network's Rich Eisen dropped by to talk about last night's Panthers-Dolphins contest and more.

Dan and Rich were really impressed with Miami running back Ricky Williams. "Who would have thought he'd be such an important cog for this team?" Eisen asked.

Eisen brought up a good point about Ricky. Bill Parcells came in and opted not to get rid of Ricky when he easily could have. "That could prove to be one of the most savvy and important moves Bill Parcells made [in Miami]," Eisen said.

Eisen said he called Ricky the  "Grover Cleveland Alexander" of the NFL because he had two good four-year stints. Dan thinks Rich lost the audience there.

Eisen was also very impressed by Miami quarterback Chad Henne. "He's throwing darts in places only his guys can catch the ball," Eisen said.

From the Guardian: Thierry Henry believes a replay would be the "fairest solution" to the continuing furore over the handball which led to the goal that eliminated the Republic of Ireland from World Cup qualification, and said Ireland "deserve to be in South Africa".

"Naturally I feel embarrassed at the way that we won and feel extremely sorry for the Irish who definitely deserve to be in South Africa," said Henry in a statement today. "Of course the fairest solution would be to replay the game but it is not in my control."

NBC's Tony Dungy joined the show to talk about the upcoming weekend and other big topics in the NFL.

Dungy had a very interesting comparison between Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.

"Peyton is so good. There aren't many things I think anybody does better than him. But Tom Brady throws a beautiful deep ball and that's probably the one thing if I had to pick is throwing the deep ball.

"But Peyton Manning is a tremendous quarterback who does everything well and I just haven't seen many quarterbacks in history do many things better than him."

Dan asked Dungy about Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis. "Charlie Weis is a brilliant offensive mind," Dungy said. "Charlie Weis could help a lot of teams in the NFL." Dungy thinks the duties of a head coach are much different than the X's and O's aspect a coordinator needs to master.

Dungy also commented on the marquee value of a job like Buffalo. Dungy said it's not big-time now, but it could be. Dungy said the Tampa Bay job was bad job when he got there, but it turned into something different.

Dan asked Dungy his take on players hiding concussions. Dungy understands that's a problem. "I got two concussions that I remember while I was playing. ... You want to get back in the game. you don't want to give up your spot," Dungy said.

Nevertheless, Dungy thinks the NFL is taking steps to help with this problem. "I think teams are doing a better job," Dungy said. He explained that in his final season with the Colts, they administered an SAT-type test in the beginning of the season. Then after a player had a head injury, they made them take the test again, and they had to do just as well to play again.

Dungy talked about reporters continuing to ask if he's interested in other jobs. "People can't understand that this is what I want to do right now," Dungy said. He reiterated that he was very happy working for NBC and being involved with the NFL and his new role leading the players advisory board.

Rodney Harrison dropped by the show to discuss the big topics around the NFL.

Harrison also had some harsh comments on Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell, who was just benched. Dan asked if Oakland had given Russell enough of a chance.

"I don't care how old he is. He's terrible," Harrison said. "I mean he’s absolutely awful. It doesn’t make sense. They waited about six weeks too late to bench him. ... It seems like he’s nonchalant with his attitude. He doesn’t prepare."

Harrison said that Russell can't complete passes that any quarterback should have no problem with.

"The high school QB my daughter goes to school with, he can complete those passes."

Harrison also talked about the criticism he had for the Patriots for going for it on fourth down late against the Colts. He said it wouldn't be fair for him to be an analyst and not hold the Patriots to the same standard. But Harrison did say there were some positives for the Patriots in the loss to the Colts.

"The proved they can block [the Colts' Dwight] Freeney," Harrison said. "They proved they can actually win a football game in that stadium."

Harrison also talked about Michael Vick. Dan asked Rodney if Buffalo would be a good landing spot for the current Eagles QB. "I think it would be a great place for Vick," Harrison said. He said Vick would bring excitement to a team that needs it badly.

FOX and Kansas City Star columnist Jason Whitlock joined the show to talk about several burning topics.

Whitlock explained why football coach Mark Mangino is in so much trouble in Kansas.

"Mark Mangino has been abusive from the moment he stepped on campus in Kansas," Whitlock said.

Whitlock said he wasn't surprised the heat is coming down now that they've lost five straight.

"His only protection has been winning," Whitlcok said. "He's not winning, so now he's not protected."

Whitlock also pointed to Mangino's weight as a major issue.  "The guy is between 450 and 500 pounds," Whitlock said. "There's major concern the guy might drop on the sidelines during a game."

Whitlock also talked about Larry Johnson. He doesn't think the Bengals were wise to sign the former Chiefs running back. Whitlock said that Johnson took too many carriers and is no longer effective. And he has off-field problems. "I don't understand what Marvin Lewis is doing," Whitlock said.
