Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski joined the show to talk hoops and give Dan a hard time.
-- Dan asked about the rumor the Nets reached out to him. "No, they never did," Krzyzewski said. "You know how these radio shows are."
He said he still gets calls, but they don't go public. The only reason the Lakers story went public in 2004 is because he was very seriously considering it.
"I was pretty close," Krzyzewski said.
-- Dan asked Krzyzewski if there was a great team this year. "I think Syracuse is ahead of others. I even think they're ahead of Kansas," Coach K said. "They're old and they're really big. They play the zone as one. ... They're very difficult to beat."
Krzyzewski agreed with Dan that Jim Boeheim deserves coach of the year.
-- Coach K commented on this year's Duke squad. "I really like my team. This has been a good team for me. Last night, myself and my family took out our seniors," Krzyzewski said.
Krzyzewski said he gets emotional when players leave. "Saturday there will be a few tears," Coach K said.
