Today's poll question is interesting. Would you want your team got close, like the Cubs, and then fell apart at the end? Or would you rather not even be in it, like the Reds, Royals or Pirates of late?

Dan also asked Paulie, a lifelong Cubs fan, which year he'd take, this one or 2003? Paulie said '03, because at least the Cubs put up a fight in the postseason.

I would argue this year's Cubs provided a lot of excitement and years from now fans will look back fondly at this season. No one in Kansas City, Cincy or Pittsburgh is looking back at this season with fondness.

Let's face it, to be a sports fan, you have to take risks. It's better to be in the game and lose in a painful way then to not even step up to the plate like some teams.
