Former Hog Sports Radio broadcaster Renee Gork joined the show to offer her side of the story on why she was let go after wearing a Florida Gator hat at an Arkansas press conference.
Gork said that she wore the Gators hat by accident and didn't mean anything by it. It was raining and she reached for it without thinking.
Gork also commented on her Tweets from practice. She said she followed the rules, and it was her boss who asked her to create a work Twitter account. She said that she did Tweet on her personal account that she would like to be back covering the Gators -- but only because she has family out there and wants to be near them.
Gork said that the station got a call from the Razorbacks and they let the station know they didn't want Gork at practice. Gork said that at first she had no idea head coach Bobby Petrino was serious when he commented on her hat at practice.
Gork said that the station hired her to cover practice and if she couldn't do that, they couldn't keep her.
Here is the video of Petrino saying he wouldn't answer questions from someone wearing that hat. |
