Veteran Baltimore linebacker Ray Lewis refused to give his take on the poll question: Who's the most overrated quarterback? But the nine-time Pro Bowler was open about a number of other topics, like injuries, the thrill of competition and his faith.
Dan asked Lewis if he feels sympathy for opposing players he's injured on the field, like Pittsburgh's Rashard Mendenhall, whose season was ended with a Lewis hit on September 29.
"Yeah, I do. Sympathy goes a long way," Lewis said. "Most of the time, as soon as I see somebody seriously hurt, I go into prayer. I don't stop until that person starts to move.
"The last thing you want is to ever injure somebody where there limping the rest of their eyes. ... Nobody should go out there to hurt anybody. If you do, you're in the wrong sport. You may as well go into UFC."
When asked how much longer he plans to play, Lewis said God will let him know when it's time to hang them up.
"When my warrior days are done, my warrior days are done," Lewis said. "My body feels too good [right now] and I'm too dominant in my business." |
