Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt explained the crazy ending of the Cowboys game on Sunday to Dan.

The Cowboys were running out of time and hit a long pass downfield. They rushed down the field to down the ball and stop the clock, but an Arizona defender, Travis LaBoy, was stuck behind the line after he hurt himself. So the Cowboys got a five-yard off-sides penalty which made their final-second field-goal attempt easier.

Then right before the Cowboys attempted the field goal, Whisenhunt called time out. Nick Folk's first attempt was blocked. He nailed the second attempt after the time out.

But Whisenhunt's Cardinals didn't panic. They lost the coin toss, but their defense held tough. Then things worked out well on the punt. Apparently, Sean Morey had been un-blocked earlier in the game. Whisenhunt said Morey was directed to go after the punt if the Cowboys didn't pick him up. The 'Boys didn't block Morey, he blocked the punt and the Cardinals picked it up for the win.

Whisenhunt was happy with most aspects of Arizona's game on Sunday, despite some major mistakes. He said he felt coming in they had some confidence at home and could hang with the Cowboys.

The key was that the Cardinals could get pressure rushing four guys. Whisenhunt said the D's No. 1 priority was stop the run. Once they did that, the Cardinals were in good shape against Tony Romo and those talented receivers.

Dan asked Whisenhunt if the Cardinals expect to make the playoffs. Whisenhunt said "yes, we do expect to make the playoffs."

Whisenhunt had interesting things to say about Kurt Warner. Whisenhunt said that Warner texted him 15 times or so the Monday after Anquan Boldin got hurt against the Jets. Whisenhunt understood Warner's emotions. The coach didn't seem worried he was going to lose Warner.
