Super-agent Scott Boras is still working on Manny Ramirez's contract. Dan grilled him about the negotiations.

Dan asked Boras if Manny was worth more than any player in baseball. Boras didn't directly say yes, but he did say that Manny did two things Alex Rodriguez didn't: Manny had great postseason numbers and had a direct impact on ticket sales in Los Angeles -- unlike A-Rod.

Dan also asked Boras what happened to Manny in Boston. Boras said that Manny realized that he was uncomfortable living in the city of Boston. Boras said that Manny was happy in Los Angeles and Cleveland. But he never clicked with the Boston area.

Boras did confirm Boston is out of the equation of Boston. But he wouldn't comment on any particular teams.

Boras said that there are rare opportunities in this year's free-agent market. There are guys like Ramirez and Mark Teixeira who will directly increase a team's revenue.

Boras also commented on the economy and its effect on player contract negotiations. He said baseball doesn't have a lot of the issues other business face during these tough financial times. Boras says baseball has been well managed and revenues are up. So he doesn't accept that economic issues should affect players' salaries.
