SI.com's Jon Heyman is on top of all the hot stove news. Here are some highlights from today's interview:

-- The Yankees don't see the Brewers as their competition for CC Sabathia. Milwaukee GM Doug Melvin said the Yanks over-bid. But New York is more worried about the California teams and probably thought less than $140 million would be an insult. Heyman thinks that Sabathia might take less money to go home to California -- either the Angels or Dodgers.

-- Heyman says the Angels' No. 1 target is Mark Teixeira. Teixeira is an East Coast guy, but he had a great time last year in Anaheim, so he might stay.

-- Heyman thinks a big American League team might go four years for Manny Ramirez, and someone is likely to blow away the Dodgers' short-term deal.

-- Heyman doesn't think the Red Sox floated that story about almost suspending him to send a message to the league about how bad a guy he is.

-- Heyman didn't have a problem with Albert Pujols winning the NL MVP, but he voted for Manny. Heyman said Ramirez single-handedly saved the Dodgers last season. Heyman said Manny was better than Ryan Howard down the stretch. Heyman says that what happened in Boston shouldn't affect his status in the NL MVP race.

-- Heyman likes K-Rod for the AL MVP. He said no one else in the American League did anything spectacular. Dan disagrees, saying we all got drunk on that save statistic.
