Jimmie Johnson joins the show after winning his third straight NASCAR title.
Johnson says that if he was in the same points situation in the final race 30 years ago, the NASCAR guys probably wouldn't have done anything different -- except for Dale Earnhardt Sr.
But to be fair, Johnson said he wishes he could have raced against Earnhardt.
Johnson wouldn't get too much into his place in history. Johnson said he'll let his numbers speak for themselves.
Dan asked Johnson if he is worried about backlash about his winning ways. But Johnson doesn't care and says it's unfair of people to resent his success.
Johnson admits that he was wearing makeup on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
Dan asked Johnson about how the economy is affecting NASCAR. Johnson said it's huge. The American automakers' woes are big. Also, sponsors can give less money to marketing and fans can't afford to spend as much on races.
Johnson also said that he believes there will be a hybrid race car before long.
