Plaxico Burress may be facing jail time.

FOX's Jay Glazer has been on top of the Plaxico Burress situation.
Glazer expects the Giants to put Burress on the non-football injury list and his season over.
Glazer said he heard that the gun went off as soon as Plax touched it. There were reports Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce reached for the gun when it fell down Burress' leg. Glazer shot that down. He said Pierce was in the bathroom.
Glazer said Pierce laced into Burress for putting him in a bad position. Glazer said the police told him that Pierce cooperated. Glazer said that Pierce didn't cover up anything. He just tried to get the gun away from Burress.
By the letter of the law, Burress could go to prison for 3 1/2 years. Even the Mayor Bloomberg is coming out and saying Burress should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Glazer said that cops told him other celebrities have been caught with guns and not gone to jail for 3 1/2 years.
Glazer said NFL commissioner Roger Goodell doesn't have to wait for the legal process to play out. But Glazer thinks Goodell can wait to see how the law handles Burress.
Glazer said he's heard conflicting things about whether Burress can play again this year. He heard he's seriously injured, and he's heard he could be back in two weeks. Glazer heard his hamstring was bad in the first place, but Burress wanted to come back to reach certain incentives.
Glazer doesn't think the Giants would have taken Burress back next year even if this didn't happen. He took too many liberties, like missing practice and not listening. |
