CBS' Gary Danielson always has an interesting perspective on college football. Here are some highlights with his interview with Dan:
-- Danielson said this Heisman race also comes down to what you think is important -- stats or winning? Yes, Tebow doesn't have numbers like the Big 12 guys, but you have to realize those are very different systems.
-- Danielson originally thought the Heisman was Graham Harrel's to lose. Harrel's Texas Tech Red Raiders ran into a better team, and the other guys moved ahead. Danielson says it will come down to Saturday's games. Tebow could really impress folks and move ahead if the Gators beat the Crimson Tide.
-- Danielson said both Alabama and Florida can win on Saturday. He says it will come down to coaching strategy. He says that Florida has beaten teams that weren't coached well. Danielson said that Alabama better be well-coached on Saturday.
-- Danielson had interesting comments on the big QBs different throwing styles. Sam Bradford and Tebow both have unusual throwing styles -- although Bradford is probably much closer to NFL style. But Danielson said Tebow can control a room and has a special leadership ability that you don't see often.
-- Danielson says that coaches use gamesmanship and UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel has a plan here by giving up a time out to even things up after USC announced it was wearing its red jerseys (which will cost it a time out). Danielson said the key is Neuheisel did something to prove he's not going to intimidated.
-- Danielson confirmed that Auburn's Tommy Tuberville was fired, he didn't resign. He said he talked to lots of people around the program and Tuberville was not welcomed back, despite what the school says.
