SI's Tom Verducci reported that the Red Sox might be interested in John Smoltz. Smoltz joined the show and said he has not talked to any team, but his agent has talked to Boston and other teams.

Smoltz guaranteed Dan he will pitch again. He's just not sure where yet. "I can't wait to pitch," Smoltz said. He's not ruling out any team, including the Braves.

Smoltz, 41, won't tell Dan what teams he may end up with. He says he's just focused on rehab right now. Smoltz said yesterday was six months after his surgery and he's now throwing off a mound.

Smoltz had some funny things to say about his former teammate Greg Maddux. Some day, he might write a book on his years with Maddux and Tom Glavine, with Maddux's antics playing a key role. Smoltz also commented on Maddux's mastery on the mound. If someone doesn't vote for him on their first Hall of Fame ballot, Smoltz thinks they should have their vote pulled.
