Former Georgetown coach John Thompson joined the show to weigh in on the topic of colleges not hiring black head coaches in football.

Thompson thinks that it's ridiculous that we're even talking about the Rooney Rule. Why should race be a factor here. He said this whole discussion was "primitive."

Thompson said these colleges have a ridiculous double-standard. They're comfortable with black players but not black coaches? That makes no sense to Thompson. He thinks it's sad we still have to talk about this kind of issue in today's world.

Thompson also commented on schools recruiting very young basketball players. He thinks it's terrible and they're robbing these youngsters of their youth.

Thompson admitted that if he was still coaching, he can't promise he wouldn't pursue a young player. But the reality is a lot of eighth graders may look great, but don't develop later on.

Dan asked Thompson who was the best player he had at Georgetown. Thompson wouldn't answer. That's like choosing between his sons. But he did say he used to say Patrick Ewing
