The big debate today is whether former Lions president Matt Millen will make a credible TV analyst at the Super Bowl. Millen was one of the best broadcasters in the business before he joined Detroit.
If you didn't hear Dan talk to Millen on Saturday on NBC, here are some of the highlights, and the audio is available above.
-- Millen took full responsibility for the Lions' historic failures. He didn't make excuses.
-- Dan asked him about his reputation after this mess. Millen said yes, he's "the stiff" from Detroit. But there's a lot more to it.
-- Millen said he would have fired himself -- but he would have waited until after the season.
-- Millen said the Lions are closer to winning than you might think. Just look at teams like Atlanta and Miami. He said Rod Marinelli is a "stud," and Calvin Johnson is one of the best young receivers in the NFL. |
