Kurt Warner joined the show after signing a new two-year deal with the Cardinals. Here are some highlights from his interview with Dan:
-- Dan asked Warner if he would play with Terrell Owens. "Ya I would," Warner said. "I think he's a great player. When I've been around him, I've enjoyed being around him. I would definitely play with him as long as it was best for our football team."
-- Warner said he really did consider San Francisco. He said at first, he didn't want to go. But when the process slowed down in Arizona, he got more serious about the 49ers. "We were definitely considering it," Warner said. He said they brought it to the kids and looked at it from every angle.
-- Warner said he liked the Niners very much. "I liked what coach [Mike] Singletary was trying to do there," Warner said. But in the end, Warner said from a football side, the Cardinals were a better fit. And he wasn't sure he wanted to do something different at the end of his career.
-- Warner said he's had conversations with Anquan Boldin. "There are still some issues that need to be worked out," Warner said. But the Cards QB is confident Boldin will be able to come back and help the team.
-- Warner said he doesn't think Boldin is jealous of Larry Fitzgerald. Dan asked if Fitzgerald was his No. 1 option. "Never," Warner said. The QB said it always depends on the play. Some plays are designed for Fitz, some are for Boldin.
-- Warner said losing players is part of the game. When he was with the Rams, they lost a lot of guys. So Warner says they'll be OK losing guys like Edgerrin James if they replace them with good players. "I think we're better with Edge," Warner said. But Warner understands that James doesn't like the team's "throw-first mentality." Warner says he wants Edge to be happy.
