NFL Network draft expert Mike Mayock joined the show to preview Saturday's main even. Here are some of his takes ...
-- Mayock wouldn't take Matthew Stafford. He doesn't think the Lions should take him at No. 1. He says Stafford was all over the place last year.
-- Dan asked Mayock where Stafford and Mark Sanchez would fall in last year's draft. Here is Mayock's order:
1. Matt Ryan
2. Mark Sanchez
3. Joe Flacco
4. Matt Stafford
5. Josh Freeman
-- Dan asked Mayock his one can't-miss prospect. Last year Mayock chose Jerod Mayo, who was defensive rookie of the year. This year, Mayock chose Tennessee defensive end Robert Ayers. Mayock has Ayers going late in the first round. He said he was dominant during the Senior Bowl.
-- Mayock had interesting comments on the USC linebackers. Mayock said teams weren't sure Brian Cushing and Rey Maualuga could play on third down. Mayock thinks those two will fall into the 20s. Clay Matthews should go in the teens.
-- Mayock said that Percy Harvin is a top-10 talent who may fall because of his character. Harvin reportedly tested positive for marijuana. "Anybody who tests positive at the NFL combine has to be an absolute lunatic." |
