Former Colts coach Tony Dungy joined the show to discuss Michael Vick. Dungy wrote a great article in Sports Illustrated about Vick. Here are some of Dungy's takes ...

Dungy said that he met Vick in Leavenworth Prison. Dungy says that he's met several young men in prison of late, and Vick was similar to many of them.

"To me, it was just seeing another young person with potential that got short-circuited," Dungy said of Vick.

Dungy said that a lot of ex-cons face the same issues as Vick, but don't get nearly the same amount of attention.

Dungy said Vick's support group will come from football.

Dan asked Dungy what he would tell Colts owner Jim Irsay about Vick. "The time I spent with Mike, I believed in him," Dungy said he would tell Irsay.

Dungy said that Vick will have to repair his image with actions, not words. Dungy doesn't think he should try to get on television. "I wouldn't try to repair my image in the media," Dungy said.

Dungy said he hopes to stay in touch with Vick and be a resource for him.

On another note, Dungy said he's against expanding the season to 17 or 18 games. He made a good argument. The longer the season, the more good teams are going to distance themselves from everyone else. Dungy pointed out how many meaningless games he had in Indy. Dungy even said the schedule should be shortened to 14 games.
