Charles Barkley dropped by the show to discuss the NBA Finals on other topics. Here are some of his takes ...
-- Charles says that anyone in the media who says Kobe Bryant is tired is "full of it."
-- Dan and Barkley discussed Tim Floyd's resignation. Barkley is not a fan of college basketball, because he doesn't think schools graduate their players.
"I have zero respect for the NCAA," Barkley said. "I think it has a really negative effect on a lot of black kids. You got those scumbags in AAU, which I hate."
Barkley also doesn't like the one-and-done rule. He would prefer guys stay in college two years. "There are too many players who are coming out who can't play," Barkley said.
Barkley also feels that college players should be paid. They can't work and they have the right to have some comforts in their life.
-- Barkley had some interesting takes on television and radio ratings. "The ratings system is one of the biggest shams in the world," Barkley said. "With all the technology we have today, they don't know who's watching what."
-- Dan asked Barkley who he would rather have as an agent: Drew Rosenhaus or Scott Boras. Barkley said definitely Boras. Barkley doesn't want to see his agent on TV and he doesn't want to re-do his deal all the time. "Once you sign a deal, it's a deal," Barkley said.
-- Barkley said that people have confused him for Shaq. "I've had 30 people in the last few years think I'm Shaquille O'Neal," Barkley said.
-- Barkley said he spent most of the day yesterday with Tiger Woods and Hank Haney working on his golf swing. Barkley said he's close to being in top form.
"One of my biggest problems is that I bet like I'm Tiger Woods on the golf course," Barkley said.
Dan asked Barkley who was more competitive on the golf course, Tiger or Michael Jordan. Barkley basically said it's a tie. But no one can talk like Jordan.
"No one talks trash better than Michael Jordan in the history of society," Barkley said. |
